I'm tinkering with an idea. Maybe it's been tried before, and I hope I'm not exactly copying the format.
The concept of WordPrompt is simple. I provide a word. You provide art which was inspired by the word. The inspiration can be instant, or after some time of reflection. I will not provide the definition (which admittedly might make things a little more interesting, since the first thought may not have anything to do with the word); however, it is up to you to look it up, if needed.
The word need not be in the title or story; the key is that the word unlocked something.
You can explain how you arrived at the piece in your description.
So for the first prompt:

Storytellers Area Christmas Contest
Storytellers Area is hosting a Christmas contest.
Tell us a Christmas story. Something that will make us feel all warm and toasty inside.
Write a story or even description, that evokes positive emotions. Touch our hearts.
Contest rules are simple.
At this point, membership in the group is not necessary (although we would like if you joined and began contributing work and letting others know! :D)

All in all, the entire point is to have fun. If I see any "what I'm thankful for" pieces they should be REALLY good...
Next contest will involve Christmas. Details to follow.
Storytellers Area November Contest
Contest Time!
It may be the season for contests, be they individual or group, so I'm really tossing the group into this.
November Contest
With Thanksgiving around the corner, we'll call this a bit of a prompt.
Thanksgiving
Write something having to do with the holiday of Thanksgiving. Have fun, this is not a class assingment given by a stodgy instructor coming unprepared for the day and not having anything better to do. In other words, the last thing I expect is a "what I'm thankful for" essay.
Instead, discuss harvest and food stuff. Maybe show the point of view of a turkey around the holidays. Historical fiction.
Did I say have f

This group is hosting its first contest. Really simple, actually.
Scare us.
Write a story or even description, that sends chills down our spine. The type which we do not want to read at night when we're alone.
